Please always confirm that the electrical tradesman conducting the works in your property has:

The correct insurance:

1. Electrical Liability Insurance of at least two million.
2. Electrical Wiring Professional Indemnity of at least 250 thousand - for Test and Inspections (i.e. landlords).

The correct qualifications (examples below are not limited too):

1. An NVQ Level 3 (C&G and/or EAL).
2. AM2.
3. C&G 2391-52 or EAL 2625 (4337/4338) - for Test and Inspections (ie landlords).

For commercial and industrial work I strongly recommend that the tradesmen have the above and are registered as an Approved Electrician, not just a Domestic Installer. For domestic customers ensure they are registered with a Competent Persons Scheme (CPS):

Unfortunately there are a great deal of tradesmen/woman claiming to be a “Qualified Electricians” when in fact they are Domestic Installers, and not qualified to do the works (i.e landlord inspections / Commercial work).
